Hi, I'm Rachael Trotter, and my journey into wellness is a story of transformation – from the impact and injuries of competitive sports to discovering a powerful blend of practices that brought healing and profound personal growth. My early life was defined by the fast pace of hockey and netball, which I loved, but which ultimately left my body needing significant care and attention.
This need for recovery led me to yoga, a practice that became essential, especially as my career as a Landscape Architect meant spending long hours at a computer. Yoga provided the crucial balance my body and mind craved. Over the past twenty years, I've immersed myself in various styles, specializing in Hatha, Iyengar, and the incredibly freeing practice of Yoga Trapeze. These weren't just physical exercises; they were tools that rebuilt my strength, restored my flexibility, and brought a vital internal balance, significantly reducing my pain and need for medication. Experiencing this tangible, positive change ignited a passion to share how transformative these practices can be.
I believe that staying motivated in any wellness practice comes from finding joy in it and truly understanding its impact. I've been fortunate to learn from inspiring teachers who made the journey engaging, and I strive to bring that same energy to my own coaching. Becoming a Yoga Trapeze teacher has been incredibly rewarding, allowing me to share a practice that was fundamental to my own physical healing, strengthening, and improved posture. My goal is to empower my students with this knowledge so they can experience similar benefits.
Beyond the physical, my path led me deeper into understanding the mind-body connection. Exploring Reiki, Singing Bowl Meditation, and Breathwork opened up powerful avenues for addressing mental wellness – the stress, anxiety, and depression that can manifest physically. These practices offer gentle yet effective ways to release tension and cultivate inner peace, complementing the physical work beautifully.
What truly sets my approach apart is the integration of these practices with the healing power of nature. I've discovered that stepping into the natural world, away from the constant hum of modern life, immediately shifts our energy into a positive vibration. This distraction-free environment creates an ideal space for both physical movement and mental stillness, offering a sense of freedom and openness that can feel liberating compared to an indoor studio. Combining the grounding of hiking with the release of Trapeze, the calm of meditation, the energy work of Reiki, and conscious breathwork creates a uniquely powerful pathway to well-being.
My core philosophy is rooted in empowerment. I believe that everyone has the capacity for improvement, regardless of where they're starting. My purpose is to guide you, offering the tools and support you need to make those consistent positive changes that elevate your mindset and make life's challenges feel less daunting.
